2019-2020 Sonoma County Winter Shelters List Now Available
Sonoma County Winter Shelters are open from December 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. Up to 184 beds provided by nonprofits help to protect people from the year's harshest weather. Beds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with several locations offering wraparound services. Read full story

Initial Public Notice: Flood Elevation Program
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has released a public notice with the intent to provide federal financial assistance to Sonoma County under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program to elevate 11 homes in the 100-year floodplain at least one foot above the floodplain elevation. Request for Proposals for Community Engagement Consultant
The CDC, in collaboration with the Cities of Santa Rosa and Petaluma, is creating an Assessment of Fair Housing (AFH) that examines barriers to housing that may exist for protected classes. The purpose of the AFH is to ensure that all publicly and privately funded housing and housing-related activities in Sonoma County affirmatively further fair housing and, in particular, that they inform housing and community development policies and practices of the Cities of Santa Rosa and Petaluma and the County of Sonoma to ensure that they promote fair housing choice for all persons. Three-Year Strategic Plan and Equity in Housing Project
The Commission has formed a three-year strategic plan and commenced an Equity in Housing Project to create institutional structure to respond to existing housing needs in the community and help Sonoma County address longstanding disparities in housing. Read full story
