Early Notice and Public Review of a Proposed Activity in a 100-Year Floodplain County of Sonoma
This is to give notice that Sonoma County Community Development Commission (SCCDC) as the Responsible Entity and pursuant to 24 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 58, has determined that the following Proposed Project under consideration is located within a 100-year floodplain, and that the SCCDC will be identifying and evaluating practicable alternatives to locating the action in the floodplain and the potential impacts on the floodplain from the proposed action, as required by Executive Order 11988, in accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations at 24 CFR 55.20 Subpart C.
Now Available - FY2025-2026 Notice of Funding Availability
The Sonoma County Community Development Commission (Commission) will be accepting funding applications from eligible applicants for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV), County Fund for Housing (CFH), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), Low- and Moderate-Income Housing Asset Fund (LMIHAF), and Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA). CDBG funds may be used for eligible capital projects, affordable housing, fair housing, and economic development activities.

Sonoma County Housing Authority announces approval of annual and five-year plans for Housing Choice Voucher Program
The Board of Supervisors today, acting as the Sonoma County Housing Authority Commission, approved the Public Housing Authority’s annual and five-year plans for the administration of the Housing Choice Voucher Program under contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This pivotal program is the largest initiative run by the Community Development Commission and is essential in providing housing stability for low-income households throughout Sonoma County.
Sonoma County Community Development Commission secures financing for Summer Oaks development
The Sonoma County Community Development Commission announced today that it has finalized construction financing for Summer Oaks, and work on the multifamily housing project in Sonoma Valley is scheduled to begin today. The new multifamily development will provide 71 affordable housing units, allocated across three income tiers: 30, 50, and 60 percent of the area's median income. To qualify for a unit at 60 percent of the area’s medium income, a family of four would have to make $82,980 or less per year.
Elderberry Commons completes transition to permanent supportive housing
The necessary renovations to Elderberry Commons in Sebastopol are now complete, and residents have begun moving into the permanent supportive housing site. The first residents began moving in on March 3, and the remaining residents are expected to complete their move by the end of the month.
