Registrar of Voters Office
The Registrar of Voters Office is a division of the County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor’s Department, under the direction of an elected County Clerk. The Registrar of Voters Office performs a range of election-related duties, in addition to other public services that increase citizen participation and education.
Sigs in Lieu for March 2024 Primary Open Sept. 14
Signatures in lieu of filing fees open Thursday, September 14, 2023, and close Wednesday, November 8, 2023, for all offices with filing fees up for election in the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election.

No Election in Sonoma County in November of 2023
There will not be an election in Sonoma County on November 7, 2023, because:
- none of the offices up for election had sufficient candidates file by the deadline to trigger an election
- no jurisdiction filed to place a measure on the ballot by the deadline

2023 Sonoma County Fair Best Dinosaur Mock Election
The results are in!
The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office attended the Sonoma County Fair on August 3, August 5, August 10, and August 13. Visitors to our booth were able to vote on the "best dinosaur." Results for this all-important election are as follows:

Extended nomination period opens for November 7, 2023 Election
Candidate nominations for select special district offices scheduled for election in November have been extended to Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m. for any qualified person -- except the incumbent(s) -- because one or more of the incumbent(s) did not file.
