Acceptable Specimens

Lithium heparin (no gel): minimum volume 5 ml
Blood collected directly into QFT-Plus Gold Collection Tubes 

Specimen Storage

Lithium heparin (no gel): Store at 2-8°C

lood collected directly into QFT-Plus Gold Collection Tubes (incubated and centrifuged):  Store up to 28 days at 2-8°C

Specimen Transport

Lithium heparin (no gel): Transport specimens to the lab at 2-8°C within 36 hours of collection.

Blood collected directly into QFT-Plus Gold Collection Tubes (not incubated):  Keep at room temperature and transport to lab the SAME day collected.

Blood collected directly into QFT-Plus Gold Collection Tubes (incubated and centrifuged):  Store up to 28 days at 2-8°C

Specimen Rejection

• Blood collected directly into QFT-Plus Gold Collection Tubes or blood collected into lithium-heparin tubes are the only acceptable specimens. Reject all other specimen types.
• Reject specimens outside of the hold time window.
