0223U: QIAstat-Dx Respiratory SARS-CoV-2 Panel PLA code 0223U became effective and released to the AMA website - Infectious disease (bacterial or viral respiratory tract infection), pathogen-specific nucleic acid (DNA or RNA), 22 targets including severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), qualitative RT-PCR, nasopharyngeal swab, each pathogen reported as detected or not detected.

Acceptable Specimens

Nasopharyngeal Swab: Nasopharyngeal swab in transport medium (UTM preferred)

Specimen Storage

  • Room temperature up to 4 hours at 15–25°C
  • Refrigerated up to 3 days at 2–8°C
  • Frozen up to 30 days at –15 to –25°C

Specimen Transport

Transport specimens to the lab on cold pack.

Specimen Rejection

Specimens not handled according to above parameters. Leaking specimens. Cotton swabs.

Lab Slip

Use Apollo web portal for COVID-19 PCR ordering. Write “QIAstat respiratory panel” on lab slip; lab will adjust upon specimen receipt.
