Acceptable Specimens
Nasopharyngeal Swab: Nasopharyngeal swab in transport medium (UTM preferred)
Specimen Storage
- Room temperature up to 4 hours at 15–25°C
- Refrigerated up to 3 days at 2–8°C
- Frozen up to 30 days at –15 to –25°C
Specimen Transport
Transport specimens to the lab on cold pack.
Specimen Rejection
Specimens not handled according to above parameters. Leaking specimens. Cotton swabs.

Use Apollo web portal for COVID-19 PCR ordering. Write “QIAstat respiratory panel” on lab slip; lab will adjust upon specimen receipt.
