Early in-person voting for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election opens this weekend, Deva Marie Proto, Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters, announced today. Seven vote centers will be open for 11 consecutive days (including weekends) from Saturday, Feb. 24, to Election Day, Tuesday, March 5. Hours of operation for the vote centers will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Election Day itself when the hours will be extended from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The standard deadline to register to vote in the upcoming March 5, Presidential Primary Election, is February 20, Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Deva Marie Proto reminded residents. However, eligible voters who miss this deadline still have the option to “conditionally register and vote” in person through Election Day at the Registrar of Voters office or any vote center.

The County Guides will be mailed to all active, registered voters in Sonoma County, with the exception of voters who have previously opted out of receiving such mailings.
Beginning Jan. 3, 2024, the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office will have a change in regular office hours. Going forward, the office will be closed to the public on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. Public office hours will be Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nominations open November 13 for 21 federal, state and county offices that will be on the ballot in Sonoma County for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election. Candidates interested in running for these positions must take out nomination papers and file them at the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters by 5 p.m. on December 8.
