Notice of Fee Changes – Effective July 1, 2022

Published: April 01, 2022

The Department of Agriculture/Weights & Measures was one of three Sonoma County departments that engaged with a consultant, NBS, to conduct a User Fee Study. The goal of the Study was to present findings regarding maximum allowable cost recovery amounts from the various fee analysis performed as part of the Study, and to provide the County with the information needed to update and establish user and regulatory fees for services. Throughout the process, the Study afforded much effort to ensure that fees and charges meet industry standards and uphold the statutory requirements of the State of California. The fee recommendations presented during Fiscal Year 2021-22 consolidated fee hearings were a result of the Consultant’s analysis.

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors conducted a public hearing on March 22, 2022 and adopted adjustments to fees charged by departments for registrations, permits, and services. The fee increases going into effect on July 1, 2022 are only those fees that fall under the jurisdiction of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. There are other fees charged by the department that are pass through fees or fees set by other jurisdictions.
