Nomination period opens for Nov. 7, 2023 Consolidated Election

Candidate nominations open on Monday, July 17, for various special district offices scheduled for election on Nov. 7, 2023.

Candidates residing in Sonoma County who are interested in running for one of the more than 20 available positions must file nomination papers between July 17 and August 11 to have their names placed on the Nov. 7 ballot, according to Registrar of Voters Deva Marie Proto. If nomination papers for an incumbent elected officer of a district are not filed by 5 p.m. on Aug. 11, candidates other than the incumbent will have until 5 p.m. on Aug. 16 to file for the elective office.

Community Services Districts

  • Occidental Community Services District

Public Utility District

  • Bodega Bay Public Utility District Office #1, 2 and 3

Recreation and Park Districts

  • Monte Rio Recreation and Park District
  • Russian River Recreation and Park District

Water Districts

  • Russian River County Water District
  • Sonoma Mountain County Water District
  • Timber Cove County Water District

Candidates for special district offices must obtain and file nomination papers at the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office at 435 Fiscal Drive in Santa Rosa.
