Like all jobs, caregivers also need ongoing training. IHSS caregivers can be paid to take training classes. Information on a statewide paid training program can be found here:

IHSS caregivers in Sonoma County are eligible for medical and dental benefits if they work 75 hours for two consecutive months. There are other rules and deadlines. There is a waiting list to sign up for health and dental insurance.
