SEIU Labor Negotiations Summary

The County of Sonoma and representatives of SEIU Local 1021 met for their 15th bargaining session on February 22, 2023. During the session, both parties passed comprehensive package proposals and continued to engage in discussion on open items.
The County’s proposed economic package is designed to address recruitment and retention issues and inflationary pressures affecting the workforce, while maintaining fiscal sustainability as called for in the County’s compensation philosophy.
At this time the parties remain apart on the critical salary component, with the County offering 12.5% over three years and SEIU seeking 18%.
The current memorandum of understanding between the County and SEIU expires on Tuesday February 28, 2023.
The parties return to the table Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
