Officials Share Messages of Resilience, Rebuilding on the 5th Anniversary of the 2017 Wildfires

The City of Santa Rosa and the County of Sonoma are inviting the community to attend a ceremony recognizing rebuilding efforts and honoring our resilient community on the 5th anniversary of the devastating 2017 wildfires. Sonoma County to host Induction Cooking Expo

The County of Sonoma’s Climate Action and Resiliency Division is set to host an Induction Cooking Expo in Santa Rosa on Saturday, Sept. 24 to highlight the environmental benefits of using electromagnetism to heat pots and pans. Board of Supervisors approve community engagement and language access agreements

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today took the first steps in developing language access and community engagement plans to ensure broader involvement with county government by members of all communities. Using $710,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds, the Board on Tuesday approved agreements with two consultants to work with the county’s Office of Equity in developing a language access plan, a community engagement plan, and policy recommendations for all county departments. County of Sonoma awarded up to $10 million by USDA for multi-agency climate project

The Natural Resources Conservation Service, within the U.S. Department of Agriculture, announced its selection of the County of Sonoma for a tentative award through the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities funding opportunity. The project, titled Sonoma Marin Ag and County Climate Coalition, represents a large partnership effort across multiple organizations from both Sonoma and Marin counties, with the County of Sonoma acting as the lead entity. Board of Supervisors approves Climate Resilient Lands Strategy

Sonoma County’s Board of Supervisors today approved the Climate Resilient Lands Strategy, a document designed to provide structure and guidance to climate-related efforts throughout the county, with a focus on natural and working lands. The strategy was produced by the Climate Action and Resiliency Division within the County Administrator’s Office and the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District. County of Sonoma to take inventory of greenhouse gas emissions for all county operations

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today authorized the creation of an inventory of greenhouse gas emissions from all county government facilities and operations. The inventory will be used as a baseline to help the county move toward its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, as outlined in the county’s Five-Year Strategic Plan for Climate Action and Resiliency.
