Nomination period opens for Nov. 7, 2023 Consolidated Election

Candidate nominations open on Monday, July 17, for various special district offices scheduled for election on Nov. 7, 2023. Candidates residing in Sonoma County who are interested in running for one of the more than 20 available positions must file nomination papers between July 17 and August 11 to have their names placed on the Nov. 7 ballot, according to Registrar of Voters Deva Marie Proto. Sonoma County Assessment Roll increases to more than $114 billion

Sonoma County’s net assessment roll has hit an all-time high of $114,485,345,311, which represents an increase of 5.68 percent over last year’s assessment. The roll amount, which Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor Deva Marie Proto delivered to the Sonoma County Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office last week, reflects the value of all real and business property in Sonoma County as of Jan. 1, 2023. The Sonoma County Historical Records Commission today announced five recipients of its second annual Collections and Archives Recognition Awards. These awards recognize the accomplishments and contributions of individuals, groups, agencies, collections, or archives located within Sonoma County and focus on existing collections as well as recognizing special efforts to preserve and use archival material in promoting history and cultural preservation.
