In Spanish

Deva Marie Proto, County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters, reminds Sonoma County residents that the last day to register to vote for the May 5, 2020, Special Consolidated District Election, is April 20, 2020.  This election is being conducted entirely by mail and only applies to individuals living in the Coast Life Support District and the Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District.

To be eligible to register to vote, one must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on or before Election Day, and not in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony.  Voters who currently reside in one of the two aforementioned special districts but have recently moved, or have changed their name, should re-register by the April 20 deadline.  Residents who miss the deadline still have the option to “conditionally” register and vote; please contact the Registrar of Voters Office for further details.

Residents can register online at https://registertovote.ca.gov.  In addition, postage-paid paper forms are available at many public and government offices including city halls, post offices, and the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office, 435 Fiscal Drive, Santa Rosa.  Completed forms returned by mail must be postmarked by the deadline; forms may also be hand-delivered to the Registrar of Voters Office 24/7 drive-thru drop box.

For more information about voter registration or other election matters, call the Registrar of Voters Office at (707) 565-6800 or email rov-info@sonoma-county.org.  Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Registrar of Voters Office is temporarily closed to in-person visits, but our office can be reached by phone or email Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding holidays).
