Sonoma County Environmental Health, Solid Waste Management Program, acting as the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) is certified by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to enforce state laws and regulations at solid waste sites within its jurisdiction. The Recology Sonoma Marin Material Recovery Facility site operates under a Solid Waste Facility Permit issued by the LEA. The operator has filed an application for a Report of Facility Information (RFI) amendment with the LEA. The RFI describes the design and operation of the facility.

As required by 27 CCR, Section 21660.1, the LEA is distributing this notice for the purpose of noticing its acceptance of the amendment to the RFI for Recology Sonoma Marin transfer station at 3417 Standish Ave. Santa Rosa, CA.

Description of Proposed Change

The RFI amendment addresses the following change:

  1. Updates to the RFI to meet SB 1383
  2. Updates to the RFI to include upgrades to the facility and material recovery facility processing

LEA’s Determination

An application for a RFI amendment was received by the LEA on December 7, 2022. Pursuant to 27 CCR, Section 21665(c), the LEA reviewed the application and determined that the proposed changes are consistent with all adopted CEQA documents, are consistent with State Minimum Standards and do not conflict with the terms and conditions of the current SWFP. The LEA approved the RFI amendment on December 15, 2022.
