The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters is reminding voters who reside in the Schell-Vista Fire Protection District and the Timber Cove Fire Protection District that there is an election on Tuesday, March 7. This election only applies to approximately 3,000 voters registered in these two districts. All other Sonoma County voters do not have an election this spring.

Registered voters who are eligible to participate in this election should have already been mailed a ballot earlier this month. Those who did not receive a ballot or have not yet voted their vote-by-mail ballot may vote in person from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on March 7, Election Day, at one of three vote centers. See below for locations. Voters can go to any vote center they choose. They are not assigned to the one that is closest to where they live.

All three vote center locations will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Day, March 7.

In addition to in-person voting, vote centers offer a variety of other services, including serving as drop-off locations for vote-by-mail ballots, issuing replacement vote-by-mail ballots (for example, if a voter’s first ballot never arrived or was lost or spoiled, etc.), providing accessible ballot marking devices to anyone who needs or prefers to use them, and language assistance.

Vote centers also allow registered voters the opportunity to update their voter information and citizens who are eligible to vote but missed the standard voter registration deadline the ability to register and vote conditionally on the same day.

Voters who prefer to vote via their vote-by-mail ballot can return it in one of three ways:

By mail. In order to count, it must be postmarked on or before March 7, Election Day, and received in the Registrar of Voters Office within seven days (March 14).

Drop it off at an official ballot drop box. In this election, there are four such drop boxes available throughout the county. The following two official ballot box locations are open from Feb. 7 to March 6 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on March 7 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
