HomeFirst to operate the Sonoma County Continuum of Care’s Coordinated Entry System

The Coordinated Entry System in Sonoma County has changed operators from Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa to HomeFirst, a nonprofit agency based in Santa Clara County. The change in operators was approved by the local Continuum of Care Board and took effect on April 1. Read full story

Sonoma CountyContinuum of Care (CoC) Board 2022 Elections

The Sonoma County CoC Board is the decision-making body of the Sonoma County Continuum of Care. The Sonoma County Continuum of Care addresses the problems of housing and homelessness by having a countywide, community-informed, and person-centered CoC system that is compassionate, inclusive, financially responsible, equitable, coordinated, and outcomes based. Nominations are hereby invited for five (5) seats to be chosen by eligible CoC voters at the CoC Quarterly Membership meeting on March 2, 2022 at 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Nominations and Statement of Interest forms will be accepted until February 23rd at 5:00pm. 2022 Sonoma County Homeless Point-in-Time Count Volunteer Registration Now Open!

Friday, February 25, 2022  is the Sonoma County Point-in-Time (PIT) Street Count for all populations of person’s experiencing homelessness. The Count is a requirement for receiving federal homeless assistance funds and provides critical data used to understand homelessness locally and to support strategic decisions about our program. The Sonoma County Continuum of Care (CoC) is now accepting applications to become a member of the Continuum of Care. The Sonoma County CoC addresses the problems of housing and homelessness by having a countywide, community-informed, and person-centered CoC system that is compassionate, inclusive, financially responsible, equitable, coordinated, and outcomes-based. Anyone or any entity committed to the prevention and ending of homeless is welcome in the Continuum of Care. Read full story

Chronic HomelessnessDocumentation Training

Held by the Sonoma County Community Development Commission, this training will focus on the requirements to be considered chronically homeless as HUD defines it, as well as go over the documentation process for Continuum of Care (CoC) Program funded permanent supportive housing units. This training will be useful for providers who will be participating in the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) referral process and will be recorded and posted to our website for those who were unable to attend. Rating & Ranking Process for the 2021 Continuum ofCare Competition

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires that local CoC’s prioritize all renewal and new projects submitted in our consolidated application. As in past years, project priorities will be generated by a scoring system, site visits and interviews by the CoC Competition Evaluation Ad Hoc Committee, made up of impartial members of the Sonoma County Continuum of Care Board.
