March workshops shape County zoning and land use
Permit Sonoma is hosting a series of General Plan public workshops to discuss updates to zoning and land use in unincorporated Sonoma County. These open-house events feature interactive stations covering key aspects of Sonoma County’s future. Spanish speakers will be available, as well as dinner and family-friendly activities.
What’s a General Plan? It’s the roadmap for zoning and land use decisions that shape our county.

Free electronics recycling event this weekend
Zero Waste Sonoma and Conservation Corps North Bay are hosting free electronics recycling events today through Sunday, March 7 – 9, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at Graton Fire Department, 3750 Gravenstein Highway N.
No appointment is necessary. Accepted items include cell phones, tablets, computers, laptops, printers, stereos, TVs, video game consoles and more. Appliances, batteries, lamps, lightbulbs and more are not accepted.

North Bay induction cooking open house March 15
The County of Sonoma Energy and Sustainability division invites anyone interested in learning about induction cooking to a free open house event on Saturday, March 15, at Premier Bath & Kitchen, 3201 Cleveland Ave. in Santa Rosa.
- Live demo by Chef Diane Wheeler
- Hands-on cooking experience
- Information on rebates and incentives
- Prize drawing to win a full cookware set and more
The public is encouraged to stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. — no registration needed. However, those who pre-register will get an extra entry in the prize drawing.
The event is hosted by Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties and the Bay Area Regional Energy Network.

Sheriff’s Office community meeting scheduled for March 20
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a community meeting to discuss and answer questions about its use of military equipment on Thursday, March 20, 5:30-6:30 p.m., at 2796 Ventura Ave. in Santa Rosa.
The meeting will start with a brief presentation and a summary of equipment, followed by an opportunity to speak with staff and ask questions. Please note that none of the listed equipment comes from the military; it simply meets the definition in State law AB 481.
