<p>Voter registration deadline nears for 2021 California Gubernatorial Recall Election; Last day to register to vote is Aug. 30</p><p> </p>

Santa Rosa,CA | August 23, 2021

The Registrar of Voters Office reminds Sonoma County residents that the last day to register to vote for the Sept. 14, 2021, California Gubernatorial Recall Election, is Monday, Aug. 30.

 

To be eligible to register to vote, one must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on or before Election Day, and not in prison for the conviction of a felony. Voters who have recently moved or changed their name should re-register by the Aug. 30 deadline. Residents who miss the deadline still have the option to conditionally register and vote in person. Please contact the Registrar of Voters Office for further details about this process.

 

Those who are eligible to vote may register online at registertovote.ca.gov. Postage-paid paper registration forms are available at many public and government offices including libraries, city halls, post offices, and the Registrar of Voters Office. Online registration forms must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 30. Paper registration forms returned by mail must be postmarked on or before Aug. 30. Paper forms returned in person to the Registrar of Voters Office must be deposited into the drive-thru drop box by Aug. 30.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, anyone visiting the office should be prepared to wear a mask and follow county facility health guidelines.
