Nomination period extended for select offices up for election in March 2024

Candidate nominations for the following federal, state, and county offices up for election in the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election, have been extended because an incumbent candidate who was eligible to be elected did not file:

  • State Senator, 3rd District
  • Member of State Assembly, 2nd District
  • Superior Court Judge, Office 3*
  • Superior Court Judge, Office 4*
  • Superior Court Judge, Office 6*
  • County Supervisor, 1st District

* For Superior Court Offices 3, 4, and 6, only non-incumbents who have already successfully filed a Declaration of Intention are eligible to obtain and file nomination papers during the extension period.

Any qualified person who resides in Sonoma County (other than the incumbent) and wishes to run for one of the above offices must obtain and file nomination papers at the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters by 5 p.m. on December 13.

The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters office is located at 435 Fiscal Drive in Santa Rosa and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding county holidays.
