Guidelines for Pavement Cuts

Restrictions

Pavement cuts are prohibited on County-maintained roads that have been resurfaced any time within the previous five (5) calendar years.

Encroachment Permits

Pavement cuts of any kind on a County road requires an encroachment permit. To apply for a permit, please contact the Permit and Resource Management Department (PRMD) at (707) 565-1900.

Construction Standards

All utility cuts on Sonoma County roads must conform to Sonoma County Construction Standard # 219 - Trench Backfill and Paving Details.
