Lisa DeCarbo - Champion of Human Rights of the County of Sonoma

WHEREAS, Lisa DeCarbo has displayed actions of a true leader in the County of Sonoma as an educator and advocate with fearlessness, empathy and patience; and

WHEREAS, Lisa DeCarbo has fought for and upheld a glowing and equitable learning environment for students to grow as future leaders of society, bringing opportunities to Elsie Allen High School for youth to make positive connections with community leaders, volunteer in areas of their interest and participate in change-making activities throughout the County; and

WHEREAS, Lisa DeCarbo continues to advocate for the students and teachers of Elsie Allen High School, an underserved campus in need of support, with graciousness and unwavering enthusiasm, diligently raising awareness of the dangers of human trafficking, teen dating violence and the importance of building relationships through unity and civic engagement;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, the Sonoma County Commission on Human Rights hereby honors Lisa DeCarbo with great appreciation, and recognizes Lisa DeCarbo as Champion of Human Rights of the County of Sonoma. 

The resolution passed on a 7-0-1 vote. Three Commissioners abstained and one Commissioner was absent.
