ColdWeather Warming Centers Open Overnight November 20

The County of Sonoma issued a cold weather advisory as temperatures are predicted to fall into the 30s tonight. For residents without heat due to the power shutoff, an overnight Warming Center will open at 8 p.m., allowing visitors to warm up and charge devices, such as cell phones. Unlike emergency shelters, no cots for sleeping will be provided. Read full story

Para los residentes sin calefacción debido al corte deelectricidad, habrá un Centro de Calefacción que abrirá a las 8 p.m. ypermitirá a los visitantes calentarse y cargar sus dispositivos electrónicos,como teléfonos, etc.  A diferencia de los Centros de Refugio, no habrácamas para dormir en estos lugares. Fire Debris Removal Deadlines and TrainingAnnounced

The County of Sonoma has established deadlines for property ownersto clear Kincade Fire debris following completion of the county sponsoredHousehold Hazardous Waste sweep. Property owners must submit a debris removalapplication form and site work plan by January 31, 2020. All components ofdebris removal, including soil testing, must be completed by May 15, 2020. County toBegin Property Clean-up Process after Kincade Fire

The County of Sonoma is providing additional information as a two-step process starts to assist property owners in removing hazardous waste and fire debris in properties destroyed by the Kincade Fire. The Kincade Fire destroyed 374 structures, 174 of which are residences, and damaged an additional 60 structures, 34 of which are residences. Read full story

Board Adopts Urgent Ordinance to Provide Housing Solutions for Kincade Survivors

On November 5, 2019, the Sonoma County Board ofSupervisors took action to meet the urgent housing needs of Kincade Firesurvivors. The Kincaid Fire destroyed or damaged 434 structures, 209 of which areresidential. In response to this fire, the Board of Supervisors adopted theUrgency Ordinance to add a new code, Kincade Fire Disaster Recovery (Chapter40A), to Sonoma County Code. Read full story
