A major new report released today, A Portrait of Sonoma County 2021 Update, delivers a mixed picture of health and well-being in the county. Taken as a whole, people in Sonoma County live longer, earn more money, stay in school and earn college degrees at higher rates than in other counties across California and the United States. El Condado de Sonoma va a incrementar el acceso a las vacunas pediátricas y para adultos contra la COVID-19, y a los refuerzos, a través de una serie de clínicas de vacunación de alto volumen en los Terrenos de la Feria del Condado de Sonoma a partir del sábado. Hasta 500 vacunas se podrán administrar al día en estas clínicas, que serán ofrecidas en el Edificio Garrett en el campus de los Terrenos de la Feria. Sonoma County announcesfour weekend COVID-19 vaccine clinics at Sonoma CountyFairgrounds

The County of Sonoma will expand access to pediatric andadult COVID-19 vaccines and boosters through a series of large-scale vaccineclinics at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds starting Saturday. Up to 500 vaccinescan be administered per day at these clinics, which will be held in the GarrettBuilding on the Fairgrounds campus. Free COVID-19 tests are now available

The federal government has announced that FREE COVID-19 tests are now available to be shipped. Beginning January 19, 2022, every home in the U.S. can order four (4) free at-home COVID-19 tests. Tests will be shipped by the U.S. Postal Service and arrive within seven to ten days. Order your at-home tests now at www.covidtests.gov. Read full story

California Secretary of State approves Sonoma County’s transition to new election model

Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Deva Marie Proto announced today that the California Secretary of State’s Office has approved the County of Sonoma’s plan to conduct future elections under the Voter’s Choice Act election model. Sonoma County previously conducted most elections using a traditional polling place model. Read full story

Sonoma Countyopens local psychiatric health facility

The Sonoma County Healing Center, a new psychiatric health facility approved by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors in May 2020, officially opened today. The county-owned facility, located at 7440 Los Guilicos Road in Santa Rosa will provide short-term treatment to individuals experiencing mental health issues. Read full story

Request for Proposals (RFP) for Project-Based Vouchers (PBV)

The Commission is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking proposals from owners and/or developers for Project-Based Vouchers (PBV) available under the Department of Housing and Urban Development Housing Choice Voucher program. Up to 200 Project Based Vouchers are available under this RFP. Proposed units must be within the jurisdiction of the Sonoma County Housing Authority. The Commission intends to award Project Based Vouchers to more than one Respondent. Existing units, substantial rehabilitation projects, and new construction projects are all eligible for consideration.  Applications for existing studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units which will be used as Homeless-Dedicated, Permanent Supportive Housing units will be prioritized.View request for proposalAmendment No. 1 to RFP Read full story
