Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approve matching funds for two Homekey sites

The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously today, to allocate capital funds in the amount of $950,000 for L&M Village in Healdsburg and $600,000 for The Studios at Montero in Petaluma, both Homekey sites. The funding commitment ensures the two sites will secure additional matching allocations from the state to assist with funding gaps. Read full story

Sonoma County Emergency Operations Plan first in state to incorporate cultural competency

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today, approved the 2022 Sonoma County Operational Area Emergency Operations Plan, the first in the state to incorporate cultural competency. The plan marks significant strides in the coordination between agencies and jurisdictions within Sonoma County to ensure the protection of life, property, and the environment in the event of a major emergency incident or disaster. Sonoma County Historical Records Commission to recognize four recipients of inaugural awards

The Sonoma County Historical Records Commission today announced four recipients of its inaugural Collections and Archives Recognition Awards. These awards recognize the accomplishments and contributions of individuals, groups, agencies, collections, or archives located within Sonoma County and focus on existing collections as well as recognizing special efforts to preserve and use archival material in promoting history and cultural preservation. Board of Supervisors adopts temporary 45 percent reduction of local cannabis cultivation tax rates

The County of Sonoma Board of Supervisors this week agreed to amend the Cannabis Business Tax ordinance to reduce the fiscal year 2021-2022 cannabis cultivation tax rates by 45 percent through June 30, 2023. The reduced rates will be retroactive to July 1, 2021 and are intended to mitigate financial hardship for local operators. Read full story

Sonoma County Groundwater Agencies Hosts Rate and Fee Study Community Meetings

Sonoma County’s three groundwater sustainability agencies, Petaluma Valley, Sonoma Valley and Santa Rosa Plain, will hold a series of community meetings focused on funding options for implementing recently approved Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSPs).
