County of Sonoma, labor groups reach agreement on law enforcement oversight measures
The County of Sonoma and two labor groups representing county law enforcement employees, the Sonoma County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (DSA) and Sonoma County Law Enforcement Association (SCLEA), announced the finalization of an agreement Thursday to strengthen law enforcement oversight in the county. As the summer season begins with increased travel and major events and gatherings, Bay Area health officials urge people to protect themselves against the monkeypox virus, which spreads through prolonged skin-to-skin contact and bodily fluids, such as through crowded settings or sexual contact. Probation Participates in annual Torch Run Benefitting the Special Olympics
Probation joined other Law Enforcement agencies throughout the State by participating in the annual Torch Run to benefit the Special Olympics. County of Sonoma Health officials issue heat alert
The County of Sonoma Department of Health Services has issued a Heat Alert in response to the National Weather Service’s Heat Advisory for parts of the county from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 21. The heat alert applies to inland areas of Sonoma County, where high temperatures are forecast in the high 90s and low 100s. Santa Rosa is forecast to reach 103 degrees. Read full story
Registrar of Voters announces Wednesday deadline to “cure” ballot signature issues from June primary
Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Deva Marie Proto is alerting Sonoma County voters who have been notified that their ballots in the June Primary Election were challenged due to missing or mismatched signatures that must complete and submit the appropriate signature “cure” forms to the Registrar of Voters Office by 5 p.m. on June 22. Vaccination of under-5-year-olds to begin in Sonoma County
With federal and state regulators having now approved the use of COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 6 months to 4 years old, Sonoma County is expected to begin vaccinating the roughly 21,000 children in this age range through primary care providers and health centers beginning this week. Request for Proposals (RFP) for Housing Location Software
The Sonoma County Community Development Commission, in its capacity as the Sonoma County Housing Authority, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Housing Location Software. The selected developer will provide the Commission with a software platform to assist local service providers and recipients of rental assistance to easily identify available units that meet their needs.
