Sonoma County to lift public health emergency at the end of February

Sonoma County Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase announced today that she will lift at the end of the month the local public health emergency that has been in place since March 2, 2020 to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. The local emergency will expire on Feb. 28, the same day that Gov. Gavin Newsom has said the state public health emergency will expire. Read full story

Negotiations Public Updates:

The County of Sonoma and representatives of SEIU Local 1021 met for their 14th bargaining session on February 15, 2023. During this session, the County received a comprehensive package proposal from SEIU, reached a number of tentative agreements on non-economic issues, and engaged in discussions around costing of economic proposals. Return to In-person meetings - Roads and River MAC - 2/14/23

We will be returning to In-person MAC meetings as the post-COVID Brown Act virtual exemptions sunset. The State of California requires us to return to pre-COVID in-person meeting requirements. Our goal is to also provide a hybrid solution, but this is not yet ready for prime time. Therefore, for the time being, these meetings will be in person with a recording that can be watched afterwards. Read full story

Sonoma County partners with local bee farmer to establish seasonal apiary near Healdsburg Transfer Station

Sonoma County today announced a three-year agreement with Tauzer Apiaries of Northern California to host up to 120 beehives seasonally on a portion of vacant county property adjacent to the Healdsburg Transfer Station, the county’s refuse disposal and recycling facility on Alexander Valley Road. Sonoma County issues freeze alert

The County of Sonoma is issuing a freeze alert in response to the National Weather Service’s prediction of sub-freezing temperatures overnight tonight through Thursday morning. Officials recommend that residents limit time outdoors as serious medical conditions including hypothermia and frostbite can develop with prolonged exposure to cold weather. Read full story

HOME ARP Notice of Availability for Public Comment and Notice of Public Hearing

The Sonoma County Community Development Committee and the Cities and Towns Advisory Committee will hold concurrent public hearings to review and recommend approval of the draft HOME ARP Allocation Plan to the Board of Supervisors, who will consider the plan at a future meeting in March of 2023. RFP for Infectious Disease Testing and Vaccine Administration

The County of Sonoma is pleased to invite you to respond to a Request for Proposals for Infectious Disease Testing and Vaccine Administration. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified vendors to provide and independently manage clinical staff to administer infectious disease vaccines and perform infectious disease testing via CDC approved methods, current and future. Service locations may be expanded based upon the demand and in the event of an emergency or declared disaster. Read full story
