The Board of Supervisors concluded budget hearings on June 16th, 2023, approving a $2.3 billion budget for the 2023/2024 Fiscal Year. Sonoma County Supervisors approve Local Coastal Plan
Sonoma County’s Local Coastal Plan, a foundational planning document that regulates land use and protects resources along the 55-mile shoreline, now heads to the California Coastal Commission after the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an updated version of the plan Monday. Read full story
Notice of Intent to Award - RFP for Behavioral Health Services for Youth
The evaluation panel carefully reviewed and analyzed the proposals received in response to the above referenced solicitation. Based upon that review and analysis, we are recommending to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors that contracts be awarded to Seneca Family of Agencies, LifeWorks of Sonoma County, andIndividuals Now, Inc., dba Social Advocates for Youth (SAY). Public Notice: Solid Waste Management Program Local Enforcement Agency (LEA)
The Sonoma County Environmental Health Section, Solid Waste Management Program, acting as the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) is certified by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to enforce state laws and regulations at solid waste sites within its jurisdiction. The Global Material Recovery Facility operates under a Solid Waste Facility Permit issued by the LEA. The operator has filed an application for a Solid Waste Facility Permit Modification with the LEA. Read full story
Former foster youth in Sonoma County to receive $148,000 in scholarships for higher education
More than three dozen former Sonoma County foster youth will be awarded a total of $148,000 in scholarships Thursday through a partnership between the Valley of the Moon Children’s Foundation and the Sonoma County Human Services Department. Read full story

Nomination period opens for Nov. 7, 2023 Consolidated Election
Candidate nominations open on Monday, July 17, for various special district offices scheduled for election on Nov. 7, 2023. Candidates residing in Sonoma County who are interested in running for one of the more than 20 available positions must file nomination papers between July 17 and August 11 to have their names placed on the Nov. 7 ballot, according to Registrar of Voters Deva Marie Proto.
