Smoke Health Advisory Update

Air quality conditions in Sonoma County remainpoor. Currently, air quality is mostly in the “red”, unhealthy range. Due tothe active wildfires and changing wind patterns our air quality may vary unpredictablyfor many days. We are hopeful that conditions will improve but weatherforecasts indicate significant changes will not occur until next week. Thishealth advisory will remain in effect, until the air quality significantly andconsistently improves. Everyone should limit their time outdoors and avoidoutdoor exertion.Children, the elderlyand those with respiratory conditions such as asthma, lung disease and heart disease are most at risk for harmfulimpacts.En español Read full story

The Camp Fire in Butte County is sending smoke into Sonoma County. Currently the air quality conditions are poor as levels of particulate matter are extremely elevated. These conditions are expected to impact Sonoma County until tomorrow when wind patterns are predicted to change. Department of Justice Grant awarded to theImpact Sonoma, Tobacco & Nicotine Prevention Team

The ImpactSonoma Tobacco & Nicotine Prevention Team has been awarded two years of funding from the California Department of Justice (DOJ) Tobacco Law Enforcement Grant Program totaling $156,842. Funding will be used to build capacity within school districts and their local law enforcement agency partners to address youth vaping. Read full story
