Board of Supervisors authorizes repair of Moscow Road due to risk of failure following multiple major storm events

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today authorized the Department of Public Infrastructure to move forward with permanent repairs to storm-damaged sites on Moscow Road in west Sonoma County. A total of three storm sites from 2019 and 2023 are at risk of failure and could isolate more than 250 residents. Permanent repair of all sites is expected to begin this summer. Read full story

Sonoma County partners with University of California in support of public research, education in Bodega Bay and Sonoma Valley

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors has authorized two separate license agreements between the County of Sonoma and The Regents of the University of California in support of public research and educational activities on county-owned tidelands property at Bodega Bay and the Los Guilicos campus in Sonoma Valley. Sonoma County announces purchase of ten all-electric buses bolstering shift to zero-emission transit fleet

Sonoma County today announced the purchase of ten battery electric transit buses to replace ten compressed natural gas buses, consistent with the Climate Action and Resiliency pillar of Sonoma County’s Five-Year Strategic Plan. The ten new buses, which are scheduled for delivery between July 1 and August 31, 2024, are in addition to six all-electric buses expected to arrive in June. There are currently three all-electric buses in the county’s 49-bus fleet. The purchase was approved by the Board of Supervisors today on a unanimous vote. Read full story

Sonoma County ‘Department of Public Infrastructure’ made official in merger of Transportation and Public Works and General Services

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today officially approved a new department name, Public Infrastructure, to reflect the consolidation of the county General Services and Transportation and Public Works departments. The name of the newly formed Department of Public Infrastructure or Pi, which will comprise the various divisions and operational areas of the former departments, was chosen based on input from county employees. Sonoma County unveils new pedestrian crosswalk beacon on Old Redwood Highway in Larkfield

The Sonoma County Department of Public Infrastructure today announced the installation and operation of a new high-intensity activated crosswalk signal, or HAWK, at the intersection of Old Redwood Highway and Lark Center Drive in Larkfield. Read full story

Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport Welcomes Enhanced Sonoma County Airport Express Service

This week, Sonoma County Airport Express will begin shuttle services to passengers flying in and out of the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS). The current pick-up and drop-off locations that customers have used when traveling to San Francisco and Oakland International Airports will now also be used to offer a convenient, comfortable and affordable ride to fly local at STS.
