Permitted Open Burning Allowed
Sonoma County Fire and Emergency Services Chief Al Terrell advises that those possessing current and valid agriculture and residential burn permits in Local Response Area’s (LRA) can now resume burning. Burning may only be conducted on permissible burn days, which are updated regularly on the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s website: http://www.baaqmd.gov/permits/open-burn. Read full story

On the heels of investing $250,000 in the creative arts, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors adopted the County’s first ever strategic Arts Action Plan, developed by the County’sEconomic Development Board, intended to boost the county’s creative economy.The Arts sector has emerged as an important area for economic growth potentialin Sonoma County, and until now there has been no coordinated strategy forsupporting the creative economy countywide.
