January kept us busy with the opening of the East Sonoma County Services Center in Sonoma Valley, now open by appointment. I hope you enjoyed a joyful - and delicious! - Thanksgiving holiday, surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones of all kinds. This year, I'm thankful for a relatively quiet fire season and a gentle start to our rainy season. I'm thankful to the City of Sonoma for their initiative and partnership to open a severe weather winter shelter for vulnerable folks in the Sonoma Valley. I'm thankful to be just weeks away from the opening of the East Sonoma County Services Center, which will bring much needed county services to the Valley - keep an eye out for an official announcement in an upcoming newsletter! The leaves are finally turning and rainy weather is upon us - it's fall! Fall also marks the start of our season of celebration, and I always look forward to the ways our community decorates our residences, businesses, and public spaces, be it for Halloween, Día de los Muertos, Christmas, or for any reason at all! A community member recently sent me this stunning photo of El Molino Central in the Springs. Public art is such a wonderful way to express our identities, cultures, and creativity, and I hope to feature more in my newsletter going forward. Read full story
