Dmitra Smith, Vice Chair

Dmitra SmithDmitra Smith's interest in human rights began in her high school Humanities class after hearing accounts of refugees fleeing violence in Central America, and studying US Foreign policy.  As a long time Urgent Action Network member for Amnesty International, Smith is honored to have the opportunity to focus on human rights at the local level.

As the Program Manager for the Junior Commission in Human Rights, she is inspired by working with Sonoma County high school students in helping to give them a sense that they can make a difference in the world.  Smith is also currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Commission.
