Petaluma Man Sentenced to Prison for Domestic Violence

Daniel Thomas Beadle, 43 years old, of Petaluma, was sentenced by the Honorable Troye Shaffer to state prison after a jury found him guilty of domestic violence charges on March 26, 2025. Earlier today Judge Shaffer handed down the maximum allowable punishment for these offenses of four years and eight months in state prison. Read full story

Raley’s Pays $400,000 to Settle California Unfair Competition Lawsuit for Sale of Expired Over the Counter Medications

District Attorney Carla Rodriguez announced today that the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office, in collaboration with the District Attorney offices of Yolo County, Sacramento County, Shasta County and San Joaquin County, has reached a settlement with Raley’s supermarkets regarding the sale and offer for sale of expired over the counter (OTC) drugs. The judgment was entered by the Honorable Timothy Fall, in Yolo County Superior Court, on April 21, 2025. Read full story

Sonoma County Probation partners with local artists on Juvenile Hall mural project

The Sonoma County Probation Department has partnered with artists Amanda Lynn and MJ Lindo-Lawyer to create nine large murals at Sonoma County Juvenile Hall. The project was funded through AB 178, which supports improvements to juvenile halls in California, and the Youth Programs and Facilities Grant Program Part A, which helps redesign therapeutic and programming spaces. The County of Sonoma will hold a memorial service on May 3 to honor the lives of 34 individuals who died without family or friends able to make final arrangements for their remains. Sonoma County residents can now access free lifesaving, disease preventing and health protecting supplies — such as Narcan, condoms, dental hygiene kits, COVID tests, and more — from Health To Go public health vending machines. Through a new initiative of the Public Health Division of the Department of Health Services, these vending machines offer individuals easy access to what they need when they need it.
