District Attorney Jill Ravitch announced that defendant, Frances Farias (60 years of age), of Sebastopol, California was sentenced on June 5, 2018 by the Honorable Judge Conger to 4 years of state prison to be served in the California Department of Corrections.
Defendant Alexandra Darla Hutcheson, 31 years old of Cloverdale, was sentenced today by the Honorable Robert M. LaForge to five years of formal probation and 364 days in the county jail after pleading no contest in April to driving under the influence and child endangerment. She was further ordered to participate in and successfully complete a residential program of alcohol and drug rehabilitation and a 52 week parenting class.
Sonoma CountyRegional Parks on Tuesday, 6/5, reopened the Joe Rodota Trail between Dutton andRoseland avenues after completing a multi-day cleanup of an illegal homelessencampment. The trail was closed May 30 to allow the county of Sonoma and cityof Santa Rosa to reestablish a safe and clean trail for pedestrians andcyclists. During the closure, approximately 100 illegal campers were notifiedof the need to move, with the last occupants leaving June 1.

DA Settles Consumer Protection Suit Against Santa Rosa Medical Cannabis Dispensary For Lack of Prop 65 Warnings
DistrictAttorney Jill Ravitch announced today that her office has settled a consumerprotection suit brought under California’s Safe Drinking Water and ToxicEnforcement Act of 1986 (also known as “Proposition 65”) against Sonoma PatientGroup, Inc.
Beginning Wednesday, May 30, 2018, the County ofSonoma in collaboration with the City of Santa Rosa will temporarily close thesection of the Joe Rodota Trail (JRT) from Roseland Avenue to Dutton Avenue toremove unlawful encampments and reestablish a safe and clean environment forall trail visitors. The effort is anticipated to last two days, after which theCounty will reopen the closed section of the JRT for recreational trail use.
