I hope you enjoyed a joyful - and delicious! - Thanksgiving holiday, surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones of all kinds. This year, I'm thankful for a relatively quiet fire season and a gentle start to our rainy season. I'm thankful to the City of Sonoma for their initiative and partnership to open a severe weather winter shelter for vulnerable folks in the Sonoma Valley. I'm thankful to be just weeks away from the opening of the East Sonoma County Services Center, which will bring much needed county services to the Valley - keep an eye out for an official announcement in an upcoming newsletter! Streaming Service Scams

Now scammers are imitating popular streaming services such as Netflix and Paramount +.  Recent emails indicated Paramount + subscription was expiring and had a realistic Paramount + logo but was a scam.  Similarly an email purporting to come from Netflix to sign up for a loyalty program was also a scam. The Sonoma County Community Development Commission (Commission) will be accepting funding applications from eligible applicants for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), HOME American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) and Low- and Moderate-Income Housing Asset Fund (LMIHAF). National Environmental Policy Act Environmental Review – Public Notice for Steelhead Beach Park Project - Removal of Accessibility Barriers

On or about November 20, 2023, the Sonoma County Community Development Commission will submit a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the release of $75,000 in Community Development Block Grants/Entitlement Grants funds as authorized by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Title I, Public Law 93-383, 88 Stat. 633, 42 U.S.C. 5301- 5321, as amended, to undertake a project known as Steelhead Beach ADA project for the purpose of providing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access to public facility Steelhead Beach Regional Park.
