Dates – Content

To differentiate the year and clarify any confusion with international date formats, a four character year will always be used.

Dates within Sentences

  • November 9, 2015
  • November 2015

Other

Do not forget to include the preceding 0 before single-digit months and days.

Date Ranges

Use a hyphen (-) as a separator for date ranges. Do not use a slash (/) which is sometimes incorrectly used for fiscal years.

  • 2014-2015
  • November 9, 2014 - November 9, 2015
  • Fiscal Year 2014-2015

Time – Content

The 12-hour clock is used. Do not include minutes for times "on the hour." Always use h:mm or hh:mm format for times that are not "on the hour". Follow times with a space and a.m. or p.m. in small case.

  • 8-12:30 p.m.
