Racial Equity and Social Justice Framework

The RESJF committee will create a comprehensive framework for CHR philosophy, commitment and practice for human rights in alignment with racial equity, inclusionary practices, and social justice principles in CHR goal setting, ad hoc committee creation, policy positions and priorities, and decision making processes. Development includes engaging with community stakeholders, experts in racial equity and social justice, and CHR commissioners.

Deliverables include frameworks to guide the Commission for racial equity and human rights including education and training for commissioners, standards of practice, and professional conduct regarding RESJC,  recommendations for a more equitable and progressive commissioner succession process, recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for Commission appointment criteria, guidance for socio-cultural engagement, and youth commission learning and conduct.

RESJFC products and materials will be presented to the Board of Supervisors and made publicly available upon completion.
