Notice of Public Hearing - FY2024-25 Substantial Amendment

The Community Development Commission will hold a public hearing next month on Wednesday, March 19th, which will take place in the Hearing Room of the Commission, located at 141 Stony Circle, Suite 210, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. This hearing is related to a proposed Substantial Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Annual Action Plan, which will involve the reprogramming of HOME funds. Read full story

Sonoma County to use opioid settlement funds on prevention education, substance use treatment

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today unanimously approved a plan to use a portion of the expected $43 million settlement from opioid manufacturers and distributors on programs that treat addiction and educate the public about the dangers of the drug. Read full story

County of Sonoma Crisis Stabilization Unit reopens after environmental hazard closure

Six months after the County’s emergency psychiatric department, known as the Crisis Stabilization Unit located at 2225 Challenger Way in Santa Rosa, was closed due to a mold outbreak followed by significant roof leaks, the unit has reopened and is up and running as of Saturday, Feb. 8. Sonoma County health officer issues cold weather advisory for freeze warning

Sonoma County Health Officer Dr. Karen Smith today issued a cold weather advisory in response to the National Weather Service freeze warning for early Saturday morning, Feb. 8, from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures as low as 32 degrees in Sonoma County interior valleys. The National Weather Service is also predicting freezing overnight temperatures through Feb. 12. Read full story
