Sonoma County Fire and Emergency Services Chief Al Terrell advises that those possessing current and valid agriculture and residential burn permits in Local Response Area’s (LRA) can now resume burning. Burning may only be conducted on permissible burn days, which are updated regularly on the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s website: http://www.baaqmd.gov/permits/open-burn. Petaluma-Sebastopol Trail Feasibility Study Selected for Funding

Regional Parks will receive a $209,436 grant to study the feasibility of creating a 13-mile bicycle and pedestrian trail connecting Petaluma and Sebastopol. The award was announced April 24 by the Caltrans' Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant Program, which received 190 applications and chose 51 for funding, pending approval of the 2015-16 state budget.
