County to Invite Brokerage Firms to Help Sell Chanate Property

Hello Chanate Neighbor,
In our June 5th update, we shared that the County is moving forward with the private sale of the Chanate property, and that on June 9th the Board would consider issuing an invitation to brokers to provide the County with a Marketing Proposal for the sale of the Chanate campus on the private market.
On June 9th, the Board approved issuing the invitation for approved brokerages to present a Marketing Proposal to represent the County as its listing agent in the sale of the County's Chanate Property on the private market.
The selected broker will represent the County in soliciting purchase offers from interested buyers, negotiating terms and conditions of a sale, managing the closing process and concluding the sale in a timely manner.
The County has sent the invitation to submit a Marketing Proposal to the six qualified brokerage firms, which were placed on the County’s approved list pursuant to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process conducted in 2019.
The County will notify neighbors when a broker is selected, likely in July. Staff will to bring the offers to purchase back to the Board for consideration, further negotiations, and eventually approval. We will continue to share updates throughout the process.
