The Sonoma County DCSS has adopted a new policy of scheduling appointments instead of meeting with the public on a drop-in basis. The new appointment process was adopted in an effort to serve the public thoroughly and effectively with fewer staff resources and to help our staff manage their time more efficiently.
Reasons for scheduling appointments vary, but may include assisting applicants with case opening paperwork, assisting case participants with modification documents, notarizing interstate petitions and title company documents or serving legal documents.
Customers are requested to schedule phone or in-office appointments on a designated dates and times rather just dropping by our office. By scheduling an appointment ahead of time and by appearing (or being available by phone) at the appointed time, customers will be better served and we can be better prepared to provide assistance or to answer questions.
