Charles M. Schulz — Sonoma County Airport celebrates four new destinations as Avelo Airlines expands service

SANTA ROSA, CA | February 21, 2024

Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport today announced that Avelo Airlines will add four new non-stop destinations from STS, including Kalispell, Montana; Boise, Idaho; Salem, Oregon; and Pasco, Washington.

The move doubles the airline’s outbound destinations, expands on Avelo’s recent crew base announcement, and continues to highlight Sonoma County’s value and importance as a destination and regional transportation hub. With the additions, STS now offers direct flights to 15 destinations across the western United States. The four new routes will begin in May 2024 and will operate on Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

“It’s great to see Avelo expand on its commitment to Sonoma County as both a destination and a transportation hub,” said Supervisor David Rabbitt, chair of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. “I look forward to welcoming new visitors from all across the Pacific Northwest, Idaho and Montana.”

“Sonoma County continues to prove itself as an award-winning destination, and I’m thrilled to see Avelo opening up new routes and bringing in new faces from all over the western United States,” said District 4 Supervisor James Gore, who represents the airport area.

“With four new destinations on the map, Avelo is really expanding the travel possibilities here at STS. This is, in the best way, going to be really impactful for all of Sonoma County’s residents,” said Airport Manager Jon Stout. “This is the single largest announcement of new destinations at one time in the airport’s history.”

“Sonoma County Airport is by far the Bay Area’s best airport – its small, smooth and seamless travel experience is unmatched by any other airport in the region. This is why we are doubling the number of nonstop destinations Avelo offers from STS. With eight popular nonstop routes spanning the West Coast, Avelo makes getting to and from the Bay Area and California Wine Country more affordable and easier than ever. These new routes are just a preview of the exciting opportunities ahead for Avelo when our new STS base opens in May,” said Avelo Airlines Founder, Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy.
