Economic Assistance
Many low-income individuals and families with children, disabled or unemployed persons, children in foster homes and former foster youth can apply for benefits:
- to help buy food through CalFresh
- for health care coverage (Medi-Cal, County Medical Services Program and Covered California)
- and for short-term help with rent, utilities and more through the General Assistance Program
ADVISORY:
It is free to apply for or renew Medi-Cal coverage. County staff are the only ones who are able to process your request and there is no charge to do so.
If you receive any phone calls from individuals seeking payment in exchange for processing your request, do not give them your information.
