Environmental and culinary benefits of induction cooking to be on display October 19 at fall Induction Cooking Expo

Learn how induction cooking can save money, help the environment and improve your culinary skills at the fall North Bay Induction Cooking Expo on Oct. 19 in Santa Rosa.

The free event features a demonstration of induction cooking, hands-on opportunities to try an induction stovetop, and information on rebates and incentives for energy efficient upgrades to your home.

The expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Premier Bath & Kitchen, 3201 Cleveland Ave., in Santa Rosa. Register at SocoInductioncookingexpo.eventbrite.com to qualify for an additional entry into a drawing for a full set of induction cookware and other prizes.

The event is hosted by Sonoma County’s Climate Action and Resiliency Division in partnership with the Bay Area Regional Energy Network. Highlights include:

• Professional chef demonstration: Witness a live cooking demonstration by chef Lisa Ham, who will showcase the versatility and efficiency of induction cooking while providing insights into its culinary advantages.
• Hands-on opportunities: Participants will be encouraged to experience induction cooking firsthand. An interactive station will be available to let participants try cooking with induction technology, and appreciate its ease of use and superior performance.
• Rebates and incentives: Representatives will be available to share information on rebates and incentives available for induction cooktops. Learn how making the switch not only benefits the environment but also provides financial advantages.
• Drawing for a full set of induction cookware and other great prizes: Participants need not be present to win.  

Induction cooking is gaining popularity as an energy-efficient alternative to traditional cooking methods. By utilizing magnetic fields to directly heat cookware, induction cooktops offer faster cooking times, precise temperature control, improved indoor air quality and increased safety.
