Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport named among top five best small U.S. airports in Newsweek awards

SANTA ROSA, CA | June 03, 2024

The Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport was ranked fourth among the top 10 winners of the 2024 Newsweek Readers' Choice Awards contest for best small airport in the United States. A total of 15 airports were nominated by a panel of travel experts and Newsweek contributors. The final list was determined by Newsweek editors and votes were cast over the past month by the magazine’s readers.

“It’s always gratifying when the great work happening at the airport is recognized,” said Jon Stout, airport manager. “We’re proud of this award and welcome travelers from around the country to come experience what residents have long enjoyed – a local airport that’s as friendly as it is convenient.”

The top 10 winners in Newsweek’s “Best Small Airports” Readers’ Choice Awards are as follows:

  1. Hunstville International Airport in Alabama
  2. Lehigh Valley International Airport in Pennsylvania
  3. Seattle Pain Field in Washington
  4. Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport
  5. Bangor International Airport
  6. Missoula Montana Airport
  7. Springfield-Branson National Airport
  8. Wilmington International Airport
  9. Blue Grass Airport
  10. Wichita Eisenhower Airport

Among other criteria, the airports were judged on their ease of use and friendly service.
