Correspondence No correspondence was received.

Dr. Miller informed the MCAH Advisory Board members that he has not yet heard bac from Sup. Hopkins regarding follow-up from when she attended our last meeting in May. H did send her office an email and her assistant is currently out of the office. Dr. Miller will continue to reach out and inform the MCAH AB of the status when he hears back.

Discussion
Viveka Rydell-Anderson announced that she was able to secure Supervisor Gore’s attendance for the MCAH AB meeting in August. There were questions regarding how the meeting should proceed for Sup. Gore. Viveka suggested following a similar presentation as was given for Sup. Hopkins, however using less background historical information. Dr. Miller requested that Janette Allee request at least 45 minutes of Sup. Gore’s time.

Annie Nicol asked the members if they had seen the Sonoma County Truth Survey given to 30,000 students, and the effects of COVID on the youth. She offered to send the link to the group, as the results were very interesting and the data would be beneficial to share.

Dr. Renee Alger then gave a presentation on the upcoming ballot initiative titled Prop C. This will create a long-term funding stream dedicated to children in the first 5 years of age. The Proposition had fared well in other counties and polled well in Sonoma County. San Francisco passed a smaller version of the initiative and created 146 million dollars per year for their fund. Questions from members arose about whether or not this is something the MCAH AB should
bring to the Board of Supervisors to support. Could the Board of Supervisors approve without signatures? Dr. Alger agreed to discuss this topic with her team, and bring the answer back at the next MCAH AB meeting.

Dr. Miller approached the subject of annual presentations before the Board of Supervisors as was discussed and planned with Sup Hopkins at the previous MCAH AB Meeting in May. Dr. Miller recommended creating sub-committees and suggested that anyone interested please reach out to Janette to let her know. Dr. Miller himself also wanted to be on the sub-committee as well. Gina Cuclis also stated that it would be important to have staff present, meaning Colette, recognizing that other DHS leadership will also be present.

Annie Nicol asked about the status of the car seat program. Janette reported that a new contract will begin on July 1st with 4 C’s and that Alliance in Healdsburg and Cloverdale are also interested in participating and we are coordinating an informational meeting with them as well.

State Legislature Melissa Apuya reported on some highlights of the new state legislative budget package including Universal TK and an early child care education reform bill that offers better compensation for child care workers and a one-time infrastructure payment to increase capacity for child care centers, and money for new behavioral health programs.

Staff Report Janette Allee had nothing new to report
