Historical Records Commission Meeting Minutes July 10, 2018

1. Call to order 4:12 pm
2. The June 12, 2018, 2018 Historical Records Commission minutes were approved, with edits
3. Budget Discussion
   1. Commissioner Rinehart reported on proposed library Oral History program and possible connection with HRC plan to collect oral histories of past county employees
4. Strategic Plan
   1. The Strategic Plan, the version distributed by Commissioner Sayed on June 15, was formally adopted by vote
   2. A reformatted, abbreviated version of the Strategic Plan with cover sheet will need to be developed and distributed to stakeholders
   3. Commissioner Lovejoy reported checking on the possible interest of Ancestry.com in Sonoma County records
   4. Commissioner Stanley reported on research into grants and funding sources and noted an IMLS Grant with a preliminary proposal due on September 17
5. Finding History Day
   1. Commissioner Rinehart reported on the possible participation of the Heritage Network and ongoing planning 
   2. Format of the event is still in planning, with discussions of the timing between presentations, position of vendors and participants at the event and others

      1. Commissioner Rinehart reported meeting with Supervisor Gorin at the Archives and discussing alternative archives processing spaces 
      2. Was referred to Caroline Judy, head of Sonoma County General Services and will be meeting with her on August 1
7. New Business
   1. Library has named an Acting Director, Jaime Anderson
   2. Barney Hoen grave dedication occurred on July 7
