Commissioners will hear from Ms. Hayly Peacock, the Prevention Education Manager for Verity. She will be discussing the work that Verity does in our community with a special focus on Prevention Education. - REGULAR CALENDAR ITEMS
Discussion and possible action on items 1 to 5.- Officer Administrative Reports - Barrera and Whyte
Officers will go over various administrative items. - 2020 Project - Brown
Commissioners to discuss Brown’s idea of promotion of the 2020 project through Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) channels, including social media. - Sonoma County Pride - Blalock
Commissioner Blalock will inform the commission about the upcoming Pride event and ask the commission to consider being an event sponsor. This item will require a vote to approve funds in the amount of $500. - Marketing Ad Hoc Funding Requests - Langdon, Quinn and Wood
The Marketing Ad Hoc is requesting CSW approval of up to $710 from the general fund to be used for Facebook ads, ticket purchases, and sponsorships to support CSW promotional and networking activities in support of previously identified 2019 priorities. Approval discussion will include potential approval of a $100 or $250 sponsorship and increased ticket purchases for the Verity and 4Cs fundraisers, based on other Marketing Ad Hoc expenditures being deleted, allotting more leeway in use of CSW's general fund. - Tampon Tax - Diaz De Leon
Commissioner Diaz De Leon will be providing a brief report on Assembly Bill 31, introduced by Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia. Commissioners will discuss the research provided by Diaz De Leon and provide direction to the commission.
