    Meeting called to order at 5.36PM.

    Commissioners Basler, Kerosky, Meraz, Patterson, and Smith were absent. Commissioner Judkins on a leave of absence. Commissioner Jones abstained as Chair. The motion passed.

      Motion to approve the Consent Calendar to include the August 22, 2017 Draft Minutes as amended: Item VIII motion to extend time, correct Hales to McHale.

    Discussion and possible action expected on items 4 and 5.

    1. Safe Sonoma County Campaign – Officers, Outreach – 60 Minutes

      Chair Jones and Officer-at-Large Bjorkquist led a discussion about the criteria required surrounding the creation of the resources page. Commissioners committed to building resource list, broken down by categories.

      Jones reviewed the “one-sheet” to be presented to the Board of Supervisors in support of a request to raise funds to move forward with the outreach plan surrounding the Public Service Announcement (PSA) and Safe Sonoma County campaign. The “one-sheet” is a statement of goals, a summary of what has been achieved to date, and a vision of what is to be done with additional funds.

      The outreach ad hoc provided an update on the previous screenings of the PSA at film festivals.

      The Chair discussed the roles of each ad hoc in contributing to the construction of the resource page. Ad hoc committees also provided a status update:

    • People with Disabilities will present a work plan in October
    • Immigrant’s Rights need to confirm at October meeting what the work plan is
    1. Administrative Items – Jones, Staff – 10 Minutes
      Staff announced the November meeting date will remain on the fourth Tuesday – November 28 – and the December meeting will be moved up to the third Tuesday – December 19 – as per the Commission’s bylaws pertaining to meetings falling during the week of a holiday.

      Staff will send out link for AB1234 Ethics Training to newly appointed Commissioners and those who are in need of renewing their training.
