The County of Sonoma’s Climate Action and Resiliency Division (CARD) is honored to work alongside Sonoma County’s Native American Tribes on climate action planning and implementation. Engagement with Tribal partners began during the development of the Climate Resilient Lands Strategy. Division staff held informal consultations with local Tribes to solicit input on the development of the Strategy. Tribal partners expressed desire to continue this engagement with the division through ongoing and regular collaboration. The County’s Board of Supervisors voted to support this effort in December 2022. Division staff are currently working with Tribal Partners and the County’s Intergovernmental Affairs manager to collaboratively develop and implement this engagement effort.

If you are a Tribal representative and wish to discuss engagement with CARD, please contact our Division Director.
